Greetings
I’ve installed MySQL community edition 8.0.31,
and percona-xtrabackup-80-8.0.30-23.1.el7.x86_64.
Trying to execute a full backup - it fails with messages :
2023-01-08T14:12:09.232391+02:00 0 [ERROR] [MY-011825] [Xtrabackup] Unsupported server version 8.0.31
2023-01-08T14:12:09.232432+02:00 0 [ERROR] [MY-011825] [Xtrabackup] Please upgrade PXB, if a new version is available. To continue with risk, use the option --no-server-version-check.
I understand from that that percona-xtrabackup-80-8.0.30-23.1 does not support mysql 8.0.31.
Is that correct ?
Is there any forecast for xtrabackup availability - compatible with mysql 8.0.31 ?
Many thanks in advance,

@avi_vainshtein,
We will release Xtrabackup 8.0.31 when we also release Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.31. As the message says, you can use --no-server-version-check
to ignore this version mismatch. Also, please follow best practices of making sure all tooling is available for your upgrade before you upgrade. Test in dev environments before upgrading production. You could also switch to MySQL Community 8.0.30 to match the versions.

Many thanks for the reply, indeed the “–no-server-version-check” allows xtrabackup to finish OK.
I hope that Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.31 will be released in the nearest future, so there will be no need in that workaround.
Many thanks and best regards
Avi
