Setup replication - on existing Mysql server?

Hello All,

I have my ‘Percona’ MySQL server running up and fine, Now i need to setup a replication server for it.

My query is, I have an existing Samba server on which i wish to conduct my replication, Is it wise enough to go ahead with this OR do i need a FRESH server with blank MySQL database to go ahead ?

Any advice on this, please ?

Hi,

Why would you need Samba for this?
Both servers don’t need to share any data mounts, all you need to have between them is working network connection and opened MySQL TCP port.
