PSMDB vs TokuMX

Any benchmarks of performance between PSMDB and latest TokuMX?

Any news on this??

TokuMX was optimized in a number of ways outside of the storage engine itself. Using the new storage engine API must have an impact on the performance compared to native TokuMX. We need to understand the characteristics of PSMDB performance compared to the latest TokuMX before we can consider this move…

Absolutely nothing???

grumpyguy,
Apologies for the delayed response. We don’t have any recent benchmarks for TokuMX vs PSMDB. We haven’t focused effort on this because it is an “apples to oranges” comparison based on what our customers have been requesting (MongoDB, Inc compatible feature set) that would likely result in more confusion than clarity. However, there are many open source benchmarking applications that you can use to understand performance like sysbench, iibench and benchrun, to name a few. That being said, it would be a much better idea to benchmark with an workload that mimics your use case so that you can understand what YOUR expectations should be regarding performance. Feel free to post here so that the community as a whole can have an open discussion on the topic. As always, we are more than happy to help you get your mind around the switch and any issues you may have. Just shoot over to the contact me form and we’ll get in touch with you.

Thanks,
Jon
