Hi, I noticed that there are currently no percona-server 5.7 (mysql) packages for Debian bullseye:
https://repo.percona.com/ps-57/apt/pool/main/p/percona-server-5.7/
Is there any idea when these packages will be released for Debian 11?

Hi @maartenlyssens, thank you for your request. Could you please elaborate on your use case and why you would be interested in this?
We usually try to match the respective upstream projects when it comes to the Linux platforms they support. At this point, I’m afraid to inform you that we have no immediate plans to add Debian 11 as a supported platform for Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.
Hi @Lenz_Grimmer, first of all thank you for responding! We want to start dist upgrading a lot of Debian 9 servers to Debian 11 to keep them up to date (before Debian 9 goes EOL next year). Most of our clients are still running Percona Server for MySQL 5.7 and upgrading to Percona Server for MySQL 8.0 isn’t always an option.
I was under the impression that Percona Server - MySQL 5.7 would be available on Debian 11 since it will take some time before 5.7 is EOL (October 21, 2023).
Imo there is still a need / use case to utilize 5.7 on Debian 11 for the coming 2 years until 5.7 is EOL.
Thanks for the feedback and insight, much appreciated. We’ll need to review and evaluate this request internally. Adding a new platform comes with some burden on our end (e.g. additional QA/testing efforts), so we try to be very deliberate about this.
Hi @Lenz_Grimmer , do you happen to have an update about this? If Percona Server - MySQL 5.7 on Debian 11 isn’t on the roadmap we will have to start upgrading our server to buster instead of bullseye for the time being.
Hi @maartenlyssens, thanks for the ping. We usually try to match the upstream Oracle MySQL offering, and they do not provide 5.7 releases on Debian 11 either. As of today, we do not have any plans to provide Percona Server 5.7 binary builds on Debian 11.
Actually your support matrix mentions percona-server-5.7 as supported on debian 11 Percona Release Lifecycle Overview
also this blog post First Packages for Debian 11 “bullseye” Now Available - Percona Database Performance Blog mentions it as supported and currently being in testing…
Any idea when this will come out of testing as it’s severely limitting our movements in upgrading our app images (using percona-server-client) and a later planned move to percona-server-8
As well as here on the forum there are posts from 21st of december confirming support is coming.
