Will the percona build help performance with MyISAM tables

Hi,

I searched around the web and this forum for this and couldn’t find an answer anywhere.

If I use MyISAM engine, will the percona build give my any performance boost?

“Yes.”

It will not make MyISAM run faster. But it will make you more able to understand what the server is doing so you can get a lot more performance. Check out http://carymillsap.blogspot.com/2010/02/thinking-clearly-abo ut-performance.html

Thank you!

Is there a white paper or document that describes how to use the percona build to better understand what is going on?

I am expecting a significant traffic spike in about a week and am trying squeeze as much performance as I can out of my system. I’m looking at everything from db schema, query structures, system tuning.

Thanks,

Joe
