Which version of Percona Server is currently recommended?

We have a Percona 5.0 server installation in one of our product that I’m thinking of finally upgrading to something more modern.

I wanted to know if there’s a currently “recommended” version to upgrade to? It looks like the Percona 5.1 branch has a lot of active development on it even with the release of 5.5. Is 5.5 ready for prime time or is 5.1 still the safer/better upgrade?
