Scheduled backups only via crond possible?

Hi Percona,

here ist stated that: In Percona Backup for MongoDB version 1.4.1 and earlier, we recommend using crond or similar services to schedule backup snapshots.. And later it is explained perfectly how to do with crond.

But unfortunately on this page it is not stated how to configure scheduled backups (full and/or incremental) with PBM version newer than 1.4.1. It sounds like there is a better way to do this than crond. I’m using 1.8.1 and I would love it to configure scheduled backups using PBM itself.

Hello Daniel, there is a feature planned to add the scheduled backups but currently I don’t have an ETA for it. We need to correct the documentation page. Thanks for letting us know
