HI Albert.
There isn’t an inbuilt scheduler in Percona Backup for MongoDB to make full snapshots. Instead we suggest using crond or a similar service to run “pbm backup” as a shell command.
Regarding the incremental backups - when you enable PBM’s PITR they will be every 10 mins. This is not configurable yet but it is in the mid-term todo list to make it so ([PBM-543] Configure the size of the span of oplog events for point-in-time recovery - Percona JIRA).
An inbuilt scheduler for making the full backups has been suggested as a feature ([PBM-530] Add an internal timer to run backup snapshots - Percona JIRA) but it is not a priority feature at the moment. The next features in progress are Azure support (PBM-496) and priority weights (PBM-488).
Hi,
Thank you for the reply. That is what I needed. One suggestion, It would be nice that this is documented in the User Manual.
Fair call. I created PBM-648 to add something to the documentation.
