PMM2 for MySQL 5.1

Hi,Is PMM2 supporting MySQL version 5.1 ?
It seems not to be the case according to the compatiblity matrix .
But has anyone managed to make it work ?
The problem is that I have an agent stuck in waiting (from pmm-admin list) and the logs are showing that it fails to query events_statements_history.

Error 1146: Table 'performance_schema.events_statements_history' doesn't exist

MySQL version has to be supported by mysqld_exporter.
