Has anybody done this successfully? I keep running into errors.
Hi,
I’m not aware of PMM OVA being used on XCP-ng before, but maybe if you share what errors in particular you are getting, you will be able to get more help on this.
When trying to import the .ova into XCP-ng Center, the message is "OVF descriptor does not comply with the OVF XML schema. Found unexpected virtual hardware type ‘vmx-10’. If I continue anyway the import fails.
Looks like your platform doesn’t support the specified vmx-10. You could try upgrading the XCP platform or repacking the OVA with a different virtual hardware but that would lead you into unsupported territory.
Circling back to try again. Latest version of xcp-ng, import succeeds but at bootup the VM hangs after messages that seem to be related to storage objects. I see messages like “scsi host0 ata_piix” and “scsi host1 ata_piix” followed by “ata1: PATA max MWDMA2 cmd 0x1f0 ctl 0x3f6 bmdma 0xc220 irq 14” and “ata2: PATA max MWDMA2 cmd 0x170 ctl 0x376 bmdma 0xc228 irq 15”. Does this mean the hypervisor is trying to use virtual PATA drives with a virtual SCSI controller? Can anyone help?
