On the website help page there’s only a remark: “The names of products are self-explanatory.” Not to me…
ps is percona server.
pxc is the Percona XtraDB cluster.
But what exactly does this install? The server binaries? Is there a product name for installing only the client?

It would be very useful if there were a description that says what exactly will be installed by which product.

Cheers

Hi,

You can find more information in our documentation: Configuring Percona Repositories with `percona-release` - Percona Software Repositories

Thank you,

hi @bitone
percona-release script will install repositories from which you would be able to install packages.
In case you install pxc-80 repo you would be able to install Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0
The same about other repos. We have standalone repo for each product.
So in case you need only Percona Server for MongoDB there is no need to enable pxc-80 repo you need to enable psmdb-4.4 repo and that is it
