Hello, the community team has decided to introduce monthly reports on the community’s open-source activity in the development of Percona and Percona products.
Welcome to the first report for September 2025.
We have collected community contributions in the following areas:
-
GitHub - code contributions, pull requests, and issues on GitHub
-
Jira - bug reports and participation in discussions about features under development
-
Forum - your activity on the forum, helping users
We will also add other activities, such as posts on the Percona community blog (anyone can publish a post via GitHub - percona/community: Percona Community repository. Join us on Percona.community and the Percona Forums at forums.percona.com., posts and videos about Percona products on any platforms and blogs, as well as presentations at meetups and conferences.
Let’s start with GitHub.
Percona engineers conduct development openly on GitHub, creating numerous pull requests.
To give you an idea, in September 2025, more than 1,000 pull requests were created and closed by over 100 staff members in 96 repositories across three GitHub organizations.
However, we are interested in the community’s contribution, your contribution, so we have collected your contributions:
GitHub Pull Requests - contributions to the code
-
19 contributors were active in 10 repositories:
-
13 Pull Requests were created
-
11 Pull Requests were merged
GitHub Issues - feature requests and bug reports:
-
19 users created 20 new issues in 9 repositories
-
53 issues in 11 repositories from 45 users were active
This is a significant contribution and a great help. We would like to mention everyone, but it would be a long list, and it is difficult to single out any particular contribution, as each one is important.
We publish PRs that were merged in September.
Thank you very much to everyone who participates. Even if your Pull Request has been rejected, it still helps our engineers make our products better.
We invite you to visit https://github.com/percona.
Percona Jira
Percona engineers manage the development process and track issues in Jira https://perconadev.atlassian.net/
I think everyone is familiar with Jira, but it is usually closed to the outside world. Percona has an open Jira, and anyone can participate in product development with their ideas and report bugs.
In September, 21 users created 15 issues and participated in discussions on 32 issues across 7 products.
By the way, we have created a special dashboard to find data on community contributions among the many tasks performed by employees. It’s not perfect yet, but we are making it more accurate.
