You can try searching here and compiling from source: https://github.com/percona/percona-server/tags?after=clone-5.5.35-build. There are still 5.1 builds available.

I am aware it isn’t supported, or that the source code is available - I was just checking if there is a binary distribution still available (maybe in some archive), that could save me the trouble of compiling it from source.

I understand. Unfortunately we no longer maintain a repository with 5.1.x binaries. Compiling from source would be the only option.
hi @imrizI am not sure if you still need tarball but it is possible to download latest available binary tarball from website using wget or curl:
