Install pmm-client to location other than /usr/local

I am trying to install pmm-client to a location other than /usr/local because my company mounts a shared directory to this location which I am not able to edit. I updated the install script to install to a different location but it appears that pmm-admin is set up to expect the files in the default location. How can I go about installing and running the client from an alternate location?

Unfortunately, this is impossible as all the paths are hardcoded into pmm-admin utility.

Is it possible may be to create a symlink in that folder?
