Exporting PMM Data for Existing Monitoring System

Hi,

I noticed that PMM offers a very interesting module for analysing MongoDB query performance. However, from what I understand, it comes with a full monitoring system. The pmm server, which includes Prometheus, Grafana among other stuff.

Since we already have our own Prometheus and Grafana setup, would it be possible to export the data for use in our existing monitoring system?
I am looking for something similar to the MongoDB exporter, which we can install and integrate into our system independently.
Is there a specific exporter for this (Query performance analyses)?

Hi,
There are few options you can integrate PMM into existing Monitoring system:

  1. PMM provides ability to use external Victoria Metrics and if you use Victoria Metrics you can use it
  2. Theoretically it’s possible to create federation between Prometheus and Victoria Metrics.

QAN agent is integrated into PMM system very deep, so you can’t get it without PMM.

Thank you for the response @nurlan. It was my initial perception from the documentation, that I would need the pmm-agent and the pmm-server for QAN to work.
