To backup some databases i use
innobackupex-1.5.1 … --databases=LIST
But how to restore the database server is from this archival copy, not touching the other databases on the server?
Is not it possible to restore a specific database on a server, if you can back up one database?
You will need to restore manually in that case, because I do not think that innobackupex is smart enough to do it correctly.
