I have a 1TB database, it takes 2-4 hours to do a SST on it to a JOINER node.
However, most of the tables during this process are idle (not updated), so I was thinking - perhaps someone from the Percona team could look into an idea of RSYNC’ing the whole database first, and only then doing an XtraBackup of those tables that have been updated while the RSYNC happened?
This way, JOINER nodes could be brought up in 10-20 minutes, instead of 2-4 hours.
