TDE and possibility of AES 256

Good afternoon,

I am currently evaluating PostgreSQL forks that offer Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) for a customer. Due to a requirement for post-quantum safety, support for AES-256 is essential.

We would much prefer this project over other solutions because of its open-source nature.

My question is: are there any committed plans to implement AES-256 in the near future?

Hi,

The short answer is yes. Actually, there’s been a lot of internal discussions regarding AES-256. There’s a lot to do in this regard but we are aiming for it.

We’ll keep the community posted.
