Hi all,
I am start using percona xtrabackup replacing zmanda-zrm ( almost 10 years )
but when I read on https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-....4/manual.html it’s said that
“innobackupex is the symlink for xtrabackup. innobackupex still supports all features and syntax as 2.2 version did, but is now deprecated and will be removed in next major release.”
I don’t know when is the major release will be. but from release notes. ver 1.6 the last 1.x version before upgrade into version 2.x (within a year)
so I expect ver 2.x will be somehow at 2.6 or 2.7 about 1-2 years from now.
I want a tool that have long run. just like rhel/centos did with their support and included php/mysql version.
if “innobackupex is the symlink for xtrabackup.” can I assume that xtrabackup now have the same features as innobackupex ??
can backup myisam, frm files, etc.
and in long run xtrabackup will receive additional features (i.e in version 3.x)
Thanks before for your attention.
Hoping someone from Percona can answer this.
Regards,
Amin Y
