I have a tcpdump of MySQL traffic that I’m running through pt-query-digest, but it’s trying to be helpful and consolidate them for me. Even if I tell it to give me the slowest 10000 queries, it still gives me one per type of query. I’d like to turn this tcpdump into a real activity log for use in pt-log-player (knowing it is deprecated). Is there a way to do that?
Have you looked into Percona Playback? It has a plugin specifically for replaying tcpdump files, which seems like it would fit what you are trying to do. However if you specifically need pt-log-player, hopefully someone else has more insight, as I do not see any specific pt-query-digest options to do what you want.
