Portable Percona Test Environment on Windows Laptop

Hello Percona Community,

I’ve been running Percona Server for MySQL 8.0 on my Windows laptop for several weeks now, and it has been an excellent portable solution for development and demonstrations. Using WSL2 with Ubuntu, I can easily spin up databases, test replication scenarios, and run performance benchmarks while on the move.

This setup has been particularly useful for client workshops where I need to show live query analysis using Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM). The Windows laptop handles everything smoothly, and the convenience of having my entire test environment in a single device has been a big advantage.

I’m curious to know if others here also use a Windows laptop for Percona work. Are there specific configurations or tuning tips you’ve found effective for making the most out of this kind of portable setup?

Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

Hello @oliviabarn

All the Percona products are not supported on Windows. They might be working with workaround but not tested on windows.

You can see the list of operating systems supported here,
