PMM Server 2 rootless for OpenShift.

Hello,

I would like to have a PMM server 2.x container running rootless so I can use it on Openshift (Openshift does not allow containers to run commands as root).

I know that this was done in the past for PMM server 1.x:

many changes were introduced from v 1.x to 2.x so it is being hard for me to replicate the aforementioned changes for PMM 2.x.

Has anyone gone through this before?

I would appreciate any guideline or help.

Thanks.

Note:

I have created a Jira issue on this topic [URL][PMM-4929] Kubernetes-compatible PMM Server 2 Docker image - Percona JIRA

The older version of PMM server 1.x requires an IP address hard-coded when registering clients and no SSL is available for QAN connections. We really need the PMM server 2.x version available in OpenShift as well. It doesn’t appear that anyone has been assigned this JIRA ticket. It would be nice to know if there is a plan to create this and if there is a timeline for when this might be done?
