Is there an ETA when PMM will support backing up to local storage for MySQL?

I’m not sure I understand your question. You can backup PMM currently by exporting the docker volume as officially documented here: Volumes

I think this is referring to the “backup/restore” feature of PMM, not backing up PMM itself.
The answer is: Not yet. The focus has been on MongoDB where there is a much higher demand for graphical backup experience. I will put your request in front of the product manager responsible for the backup/restore solution so they know there’s another vote for similar functionality in MySQL to what’s been added for MongoDB. @Roma_Novikov
