Hi
My company, EDF, is very interested in Percona’s pg_tde.
Is there a planned date for its production release in 2025?
Hi, thanks for asking!
I am happy to share that the general availability for pg_tde extension is planned for June. That means what you can expect - a release planned for today!
Have you already tried the solution? Would love to learn about your experiences!
Thank you for your response. I am going to study percona pg_tde right now
thank you for this info
Hi
I am going to try the solution soon. I would like to know if it is possible to use pg_tde with linux RHEL 8. Where can i get the .rpm package ?
You can find RPMs for Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL which has the PG_TDE extension. There is no individual rpm for just the extension; you must be running Percona PgSQL.
Is there a planned version of Percona pg_tde that’s compatible with the PostgreSQL community edition? this point is very important for my firm because we have more than 5000 postgresql community edition instances
We have publicly submitted patches to the pgsql community to make it compatible, but there is no guarantee the maintainers of pgsql will accept our patches.
Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL is a version-to-version drop-in replacement for community pgsql. With that many instances, I assume you have good infrastructure management (eg: ansible, terraform, etc). It’s as simple as stop pgsql, install percona pgsql, start pgsql.
@kashif_javed I’m not sure where you got that information, but it is incorrect.

i can see that note on the above page
@kashif_javed Thank you for catching that. I will get with our documentation team, to have that corrected.
@kashif_javed Thank you for your feedback! We have updated the documentation. We really appreciate the feedback, feel free to keep it coming!
