Hi Folks,
I have not yet found the answer in the Percona XtraDB docs, does anyone know if there is a maximum size or limit to the number of servers that can participate in a Percona XtraDB cluster?
Thx
Mike

Hi @mikejhathaway,
There is a hard limit but the more servers you add the slower overall performance becomes. Every commit must synchronously copy and confirm on every node before the transaction can finish. The more nodes, the longer this takes. The best practice is no more than 5 members. If you want to configure a DR site, use async replication; do not include DR servers into the cluster.
Hi @matthewb,
Thanks, where is the hard limit documents please? I am looking at performance for an application that has high performance requirements and am investigating the best deployment at the moment.
