Percona Repo / RPMs for OpenSuse

Guys, I know there is a repo for Redhat / Centos for percona rpms at
https://repo.percona.com/yum/percona-release-latest.noarch.rpm

How do i use this repo for OpenSuse 15.x ?
Is there another repo ?

Pls advise.
Thanks.

hi @czenmarco .
OpenSuse is not in the list of supported operation systems.
Please check here: Percona Release Lifecycle Overview.

Like @Evgeniy_Patlan already stated, we currently do not support OpenSUSE. Is there any specific package that you are looking for? There are a few Percona packages available from the OpenSUSE Build Service.

Hi @Evgeniy_Patlan .

Thank you for the link → Percona Release Lifecycle Overview

I do see Suse Listed there. But i understand that its for the paid version.

So its impossible to get packages ( rpms ) for OpenSuse or can i use the ones for Centos or must i use the Linux Generic Build at Download Percona Distribution for MySQL

Any insight would be appreciated …

Hi @czenmarco , these packages have been built on a CentOS 8 system (hence the el8 suffix), so they likely won’t install flawlessly on an openSUSE Leap 15 system. As an alternative, you could use the generic Linux tarball or Docker containers, if you can’t change the base operating system for this purpose.

@Lenz_Grimmer - what are the things i must look out for when using the Linux tarball ?

Not sure what you mean - the tarball installation method requires a few more manual steps, and you’re installing the software in a way that the package management system is not aware about. But the server should work just fine.
