Oracle's 8.0.35 performance improvements limited to enterprise?

Our MySQL Product Manager, Marco, has posted his investigations. tldr: the Oracle blogger changed some settings that go very much against best practice, and against “production quality” environments. Enterprise and Community performed very much the same when using same/default configurations.
