I cannot seem to find any documentation on what to look for or change when you switch your servers to ipv6.
Is there any documentation for this?
Or are there any steps I need to take once our ip is changed to ipv6?

There’s no steps you need to take. Simply change the IPs from v4 to v6 and you’re good to go! On the replicas, you need to STOP REPLICA, CHANGE SOURCE to the IPv6 of the source, then START REPLICA. If your my.cnf specifies a bind address, you’ll need to update that and restart MySQL.

No changes need on the client as well? just change which ip they point to?

Correct. Clients just connect to IPs, nothing to configure.
