How to send email notice after event is cleared by Integration Alert

Hi all,

My version is PMM2.23. Is it possbile to get a notice when event is cleared. For example, there is a notice about disk free space less 15%. I get a email notice about this. And then, I remove unnecessary backup files. The space alert is cleared. I wish I can have a mail about this cleared event. If this was a temporary warning, I didn’t have to login system and check the problem.

Thanks,
Dillon

Hi @Dillonlu

As per my knowledge, we don’t have that option for the current versions.

When the disk space threshold reaches then immediately we will receive the alert and it will show the list of alerts in the below screenshot, if you removed the old files(for disk space) then the alert will clear from the below screenshot automatically but we will not get any notification whether disk space is cleared or not.

But you can check the disk space without login to the DB server or node, so check the below screenshot by changing the time last 5 mins or any latest time.

May be in the coming releases, we may see the feature as you expected.

Hi Naresh,

Thanks for advise. Yes, currently, if I got the notice, I would login to PMM later to check if this was fixed.

Sometimes, in holiday or weekend, I have to confirm with others if they fix the problems, and the response will be delayed.

The 2nd reason is if the developers check the notice email they’ll be nervous to confirm with us again and again.

So if we can have a “clear” notice, everyone can see the problem is fixed. This is why I post the question.

For now, I’m waiting for the GA release. :grinning:

Thanks,
Dillon

Hi @Dillonlu

Yes, I agree with you, if it is notified then it would be good.
But technically, if we don’t get the alerts (disk space or any) means the issue is fixed. :grinning:

Well I can think of ways to fake it but at present we do not have “all clear” alert built in and I think that’s something that needs to make its way into alerting! I can put in an improvement request but if either of you want to do it you’ll get alerts as it moves through the process. https://jira.percona.com
