gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error

Hi,

I’m installing xtrabackup on an ubuntu server using these steps: http://www.percona.com/doc/percona-xtrabackup/2.2/installation/apt_repo.html

Running the command ‘sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 1C4CBDCDCD2EFD2A’ gives the following error:
Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --homedir /tmp/tmp.D0keyKutfk --no-auto-check-trustdb --trust-model always --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 1C4CBDCDCD2EFD2A
gpg: requesting key CD2EFD2A from hkp server keys.gnupg.net
gpg: keyserver timed out
gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error

Has anyone gotten around this or has found a solution?

Thanks!

keys.gnupg.net works well, I’ve just tried. Are you behind a firewall or proxy that rejects the connection?
