Future of Percona MySQL Operators

I want to Run MySQL on Kubernetes

I’m interested in MySQL Synchronous replication PXC(Galera) and MySQL Group Replication.

Given that we’ve two operators, what will the future hold? I can see that, for example, PITR is supported only on PXC but not in MySQL Group Replication, and site-to-site Replication is only supported in PXC

In the future, will both of them support all the features, or will we have a migration path from PXC to PS, given that now both of them are GA, what is the roadmap for mainting both and what would be good to start?

Both operators are fully supported by Percona and will continue to get features, improvements and bug fixes. We don’t have any plans to sunset PXC operator.

PXC operator is fairly mature and battle-tested. PS operator is a new product and lacks some features at the moment. It’ll get PiTR and cross-site replication in future releases.

If you need PiTR, I’d definitely go with PXC operator.
