As 2023 draws to a close, we’re thrilled to reflect on the remarkable journey of Percona Everest, our open source, private Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform. From its exciting Alpha release to the anticipated features of the upcoming 0.6.0 version. The Alpha showcases core capabilities like database setup, deployment, monitoring, and management, along with backup and restoration functionalities.
The upcoming 0.6.0 release promises to further elevate the user experience with PITR support (MySQL only), a password-protected UI/API, a sleek UI dark mode (Yes! We said dark mode!), and significant UX improvements for creating new databases from backups, eliminating the need for running shell commands.
As Everest evolves in its alpha state, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our community of contributors and users, whose invaluable feedback and participation are shaping the future of this platform. We eagerly look forward to continuing this journey together in the coming year, unlocking new possibilities and efficiencies in private DBaaS solutions.
