Error 1193: Unknown system variable 'port' on testing agent's MySQL connection

I got this error every time I want to add MySQL server to my dashboard,
Error 1193: Unknown system variable ‘port’
I’ve found nothing useful to fix it in this forum or other websites,
So any help regarding troubleshooting this issue is highly appreciated.

What version of MySQL you are using ? Can you please provide percona-agent log to debug it further.

mysql> SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES LIKE ‘port’;
mysql> SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES LIKE ‘%version%’;

Also, please provide MySQL my.cnf file.

Hi,

I’ve installed percona-agent per the instructions, yet nothing is showing up in the query analytics or monitor. I do see the following in the Percona Cloud Tools logs:

i got the same problem,just keeping showing Error 1193.can u guide me how to fix it,amal?

This usually occurs with MySQL version 5.0. Percona agent doesn’t supports MySQL 5.0
