I’ve read various articles that suggest an AWS KMS keyring being made available for percona 5.7.
Is there any work in progress here? If I wish to encrypt my tables with KMS what are my options?

Thank you for your interest in Percona Server for MySQL.
Unfortunately, while the Amazon KMS plugin for Percona Server is on our long range radar, we have not begun any work on it nor do we have it in our plans for 2021. If/when we do implement it, it will likely only be released on the current major version series, which today is 8.0.
Currently we support the Hashicorp Vault plugin and we are investigating the feasibility of a KMIP plugin, which may actually be a bridge to Amazon KMS if they offer a KMIP enabled interface.

Has anything changed since the previous reply? Is AWS KMS available in Percona 8.0?
Thanks,
Vamsi
An Amazon KMS component is currently under development and should be released as “Technical Preview” (a.k.a. beta quality) in an upcoming release of Percona Server 8.0 series.
