Any way to install Percona on Debian 13 Trixie?

Debian 13 is on a hard freeze to be released in 8 days, so I am looking into upgrading our docker images, and I normally use Percona for MySQL, but I’ve hit a wall installing it. You see Debian 13 does not seem to have an lsb-release (or any lsb* packages), on which the current Percona installer relies on. Any workaround?

TIA

Ah, I now get what lsb_release does, I think I can make it work without, since Percona works on bookworm, it should install on trixie.

Hey @dkech
For now we do not support Debian 13. Once it will be released we will proceed with adding support for it in all products

What does a timeline for trixie support look like?

We do not have exact timeline. But we already started work on some of the products to add debian 13 support

Hi, any progress?
Lack of Percona packages keeps me from upgrading… :frowning:

Can you estimate how long this could take?

It’s released over 2 months, any update? I can’t find any packages except some experimental ones for mysql 8.4

The work is in progress and hopefully it will be included into the next release

Thanks for heads up :+1:

Any update? The last release added RHEL 10 support, can we expect support in a couple of weeks?

Why it take so long?

I’ve upgraded to Debian 13 Trixie, keeping the Bookworm packages, and so far it runs without any issue (PXC 8.4 on 3 nodes). Not a recommendation, but that always have been the way to go for me to avoid 6-10 months of waiting after Debian release (I just wait for the first revision of Debian, so 13.1, which fixes a lot of packages)

Great!! Percona Server for MySQL’s latest release (8.4.7-7) now supports Debian 13 in its packaging.
