PMM is incredible, I love it… except, I don’t understand how alerting is supposed to work.
I try to set an alert up, and I get: “Template variables are not supported in alert queries”. Also – it seems if I want my alerts to persist after upgrading PMM, I need to create a copy of the dashboard.
I read this post: https://www.percona.com/blog/2017/02/02/pmm-alerting-with-grafana-working-with-templated-dashboards/
I’m wondering if there has been progress made since that post was made or if I just need to try to re-read that post and wrap my head around it.
Thank you for your comments, appreciated. Telling us you love PMM will always get our attention.
What version of PMM are you running? Are you familiar with our demo site Grafana
Take a look at that and see if there’s a view/set up that you are interested in and we can maybe help you achieve it. Meanwhile, though, I will bring this to the attention of the team in case they have some other useful information they can provide.
Thanks for the quick reply. I’m running 1.13.0. Will check out the demo site, was not familiar with it.
OK, any problems just shout. We may not get to it over the weekend though…
