I just tried an xtrabackup 1.3 run and it fails. Downgrading to 1.2 using the same command results in a successful backup. I’m using the x86_64 deb packages from the percona site on Ubuntu Jaunty and Lucid (stock MySQL packages), same results on both. Here’s the output from a failed run:

There’s also a warning about the version string at the top, and I’m also seeing this in 1.2.
