Wire Protocol Driver Support in Percona Server 5.6?

Is it possible to use ODBC Wire Protocol Drivers such as those provided by Progress DataDirect to connect to databases in Percona Server 5.6? Applications that use these types of drivers usually claim to support only MySQL Enterprise, but I was wondering if Percona Server 5.6 is able to handle this as well.

I don’t know if you could confirm whether you found an answer for your problem. I have a similar issue myself using the IBM wire protocol driver and unable to connect SPSS to a Percona DB.
