Server for MongoDB Generic Tar removed?

Looking at installing server for MongoDB on an OS that is not listed for RPMs via the “generic Linux tarball” however these no longer seem to exist, the tarballs for the latest releases are all specific to distros, anyone know if this is a policy change going forward?

Hey @Moraff
This was done in order to increase security. In our previous solution openssl lib was included into tarball and it was the case once there were new CVEs in openssl libs.
So we decided to rework this and increase security

Thanks for the response, so is it safe to assume that all future Tar balls will only be released for specific distros?

Do you know if the same is likely to come for PostgreSQL too?
