I’m testing Percona Xtrabackup since a few days and found out that it is not possible to save the output from the backup command (“xtrabackup --backup”) into a file in the “normal” way. I tried to save the output with redirection from a script (which calls xtrabackup with specific target-dir) to a file in the same directory (xtrabackup --backup --targetdir=DIR >> DIR/terminalOut.log) but the created file is always empty. The backup itself is working correctly as far as i know.
Is there any option to do so?
(We have to do so as it is mandatory in our guidelines)
