Recreate SST user & role?

Hey everyone,

actually setting up a 3 node cluster with proxysql lb and pmm. I accidentally choosed the wrong authentication plugin (legacy) and tried to change everything up to the new
caching_sha2_password plugin.

I’ve altered the users but then there is the mysql.pxc.sst.user and mysql.pxc.sst.role - which i deleted, cause i thought it will get recreated (misunderstood this topic: How to change existing Percona generated user's auth plugin to caching_sha2_password - #8 by matthewb)

Actually one of the nodes which i restarted does not come back up without detailed errors in the logs.

Is there a way to recreate this specific user?

Hello @crimson_pirate, This is odd because in PXC 8 we introduced automatic password management for the SST process. Can you manually delete this user from your bootstrapped node and attempt the SST again? The user should get auto-recreated with a password the script knows about.

Here it is described, that the user get recreated on a restart. Probably meant that the entire cluster has to be restarted? (Bootstrap). Because that worked. Solved.
