Percona repo speed

Hello Perconians!

Why download speed from repo 16-50kBs? I am in Australia and repo.percona.com resolves into US ip, ping 150ms. Why can’t you have geo-distrubuted repos?

50kBs seems to be excessively low. I’m at a “ping distance” of ~250ms and still could get reasonable download speeds (of course, latency and bandwidth are not related, but just to compare with the data you sent):

I also requested a colleague to try from Australia, and he sent me the following:

Do you still have these issues, or were they transient?

Do you use some tool to test the speed? Please share the command.

Nothing particularly fancy, a simple curl to a random package in the repos:

This issue was investigated and there were no issues with our repos.

Much better now, seems it was a temporary issue.

Facing the same issue now, in middle of production upgrade and downloading from repo is happening for last 15 mins

64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_seq=37 ttl=120 time=0.856 ms

64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_seq=38 ttl=120 time=0.701 ms

64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_seq=39 ttl=120 time=0.740 ms

64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_seq=40 ttl=120 time=0.690 ms

64 bytes from unn-79-127-213-129.datapacket.com (79.127.213.129): icmp_seq=1 ttl=61 time=201 ms

64 bytes from unn-79-127-213-129.datapacket.com (79.127.213.129): icmp_seq=2 ttl=61 time=198 ms

64 bytes from unn-79-127-213-129.datapacket.com (79.127.213.129): icmp_seq=3 ttl=61 time=201 ms

Facing same issue with slow download speed (20.7 kB/s) for percona packages, via an Aliyun ECS

Also suffering super slow downloads speeds right at the moment. Less than 10KB/s. Was fine about 6 hours ago.
