Is it possible to decompress a qpress compressed backup to another directory? Also, can the backup be decompressed to a stream?

Can you elaborate more on what you are trying to accomplish here?
I have a backup that was created with xtrabackup and compressed. All of the individual files are .qp files. I would like to decompress the files to a stream that I can pipe across the network with netcat.
