Hi,
I have been working as a developer since last 2.5+years. However, I am looking to shift towards databases and database engineering in general and find one of the project interesting.
I find this project interesting “ BoostFS storage support for PBM”.
Main motive behind this is to work closely with a mentor in the database space on a hard problem and ramp up my learning journey quickly. However I am not sure if this is right or am i allowed?
Thanks
PS- I have been a GSoC fellow once in past. Mainly looking for working with a mentor closely on a database project.

GSoC program is only students. If you are, you are eligible. If not, don’t worry - we can still cowork on your contribution.
I am not a student. But would love to work on a database project (thats the main motive). Let me know how.
That’s great!
The best place to start is our GitHub repository:
https://github.com/percona/percona-backup-mongodb
You’ll find there documentation and the contribution guide.
As a first task - I encourage you to work towards building a workspace and the environment - PSMDB, PBM, and finally BoostFs.
Is there any live channels to interact like Slack, Discord or IRC chat for these?
Any documentation for setting up workspace environment for PSMDB and BoostFs??
Not yet. When the project will start we will think about it.
