Check the difference and sync up from slave to master server

Hello,

I have a Master-Slave replication setup already running. If the Master goes down, all the data is deflected to the Slave, till the master comes up. Usually, we take the dump and load it.

We have just started using percona for replication monitoring from master to slave. Can I use pt-table-checksum and pt-table-sync to check the difference and sync up from slave to master server?

Hello @Shweta_Krishnan,
What you are trying to do is very non-standard and does not follow best practices. When the current primary fails, you should promote the replica to become the NEW permanent primary. Meaning when the old primary comes back up, it should be configured to be the replica. This way you do not have to do any manual data syncing and you maximize application availability by not flip-floping your databases.
