# Why does at least the percona-server-server-8.4 depend on the obsolete net-tools package

Hello,

Why does at least the percona-server-server-8.4.3-3.1.el9.x86\_64 RPM package depend on the obsolete net-tools package (on obsolete tools like arp, ifconfig, route, etc.)?

PS: There is no subcategory for Percona Server for MySQL 8.4 or LTS, so I hope I’m asking in the right place.

Hi Karel,

Upstream mysql package requires it.

As soon as the dependency is changed then it will be changed accordingly in our packages.
