# What's the purpose of postgressql in PMM

Hi Team,  
Can someone please help understand the use of postgressql in PMM ?  
Didn’t find any relevant information in the architecture diagram.

Hi Animesh,

It’s used by Grafana to store its configuration data, such as users, data sources, and dashboards.  
Also it’s required for storing services states and configurations.
