## Description:

Hello,

I’m attempting to install Percona Server on **BOSS GNU/Linux 10 (Pragya)**, an Indian government Debian-based distribution. However, when running the following command:

## Steps to Reproduce:

wget [https://repo.percona.com/apt/percona-release\_latest.generic\_all.deb](https://repo.percona.com/apt/percona-release_latest.generic_all.deb)
sudo dpkg -i percona-release\_latest.generic\_all.deb
sudo percona-release enable ps-80 release

## Version:

**System Information:**

- **Operating System:** BOSS GNU/Linux 10 (Pragya)
- **Kernel:** Linux 5.10.0
- **Architecture:** x86\_64

## Logs:

root@boss:~# sudo dpkg -i percona-release\_latest.generic\_all.deb
(Reading database … 255781 files and directories currently installed.)

The percona-release package now contains a percona-release script that can enable additional repositories for our newer products.

Note: currently there are no repositories that contain Percona products or distributions enabled. We recommend you to enable Percona Distribution repositories instead of individual product repositories, because with the Distribution you will get not only the database itself but also a set of other componets that will help you work with your database.

## Expected Result:

The `percona-release` tool should enable the Percona Server/Client repository, allowing me to install Percona Server using `apt`.

## Actual Result:

The tool reports that the repository is not supported for the current operating system.

## Additional Information:

I understand that Percona’s `percona-release` tool officially supports operating systems such as Debian 10/11 and Ubuntu LTS releases. Since BOSS GNU/Linux 10 is not officially recognized, I suspect this may be the cause of the issue

## Request

Could you please provide guidance on how to proceed with installing Percona Server/Client on BOSS GNU/Linux 10? Specifically, I would appreciate assistance with:

- Manually configuring the Percona repositories
- Installing Percona Server without using the `percona-release` tool
- Any alternative methods compatible with BOSS GNU/Linux 10

Hi Vipin,

You may download packages from [our site](https://www.percona.com/downloads) and manually install them on your system.

@Vipin_Singh,
What you can also do is edit the `percona-release` script, and remove the string-based check for your OS, though this is unsupported. This would at least get you the repo info files for apt.
