# "show global status" command hang update and insert operation

My MySQL Server Version is :Server version: 5.6.40-84.0-log Percona Server (GPL), Release 84.0, Revision 47234b3  
The database will hang when the show global status command called.  
I think the root casue may be related to the old bug 42930 ([url][MySQL Bugs: #42930: 'show global status' causes lock contention on LOCK\_thread\_count](https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=42930&files=1%5B/url%5D))  
But the show global status command is very important to monitor system(such as pmm,orzdba,innotop),  
now any work around method can be used to solve the problem.(not to upgrade to 5.7 , it will take a lot of cost)
