# Running remotely?

How do you run pt-agent on another server that has internet access? We get an error about pt-agent@localhost not being able to login, even though we specified the host and user name at startup.

There is no such possibility at the moment. You have to run the agent on the same host that is being monitored.

What about proxy support? Our database hosts do not have a direct connection to the internet.
